strawberries cherries & an angel's kiss in spring

fairy boy has unyielding granite bones
and, like gauze, a veil of leaves and spiderwebs.
his hardened wings are bent upon his throne;
inside his fossil veins, no blood will ebb.
perched beneath the fleshy vines of blossoms,
fairy boy sits, longing for the skin
of supple clover leaves and bleeding plums.
his concrete heart knows not of lustrous sin.
wingless boys pass; drag their tensile limbs in soil,
they catch small pixie fuzz in palm to wish
fairy boy sits, a wish for stone uncoiled
but no pliancy came, no soft feather kiss
he sat alone, in stone one hundred years,
in a garden full of rigid marble tears.
